In today's second reading from 1 Cor. 2:6-10, Paul writes:
"What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him..."
We are created out of love and God has a plan for each of us. But, how can a person know this love of God and what He has prepared for us if he/she hasn't been told?
As baptized Christians we are called to share our faith. Do you know someone searching for a church home? Invite him/her to learn more about the Catholic Faith. On February 24 at 7 p.m. in the St. Gerard Parish Center we will begin information sessions on the basics of the Catholic Faith. The classes will be informal with ample opportunities to ask questions. The sessions could help inquirers decide if they want to pursue joining the Church. We all have choices...do we love our Catholic Faith enough to share it with others?
Also, beginning March 5, Fr. Paul Erickson will begin classes for adults who have been baptized and made their first communion but were never confirmed. Those participating in these classes will be ready to be confirmed at the Easter Vigil Service, April 19, 2014. If you have friends or family members who were not confirmed as teens or young adults, encourage them to come to the classes so that they can complete their Sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Faith.
May God's blessings be with you in the week ahead.
