One of the biggest parts of RCIA is community! The RCIA 'Class of 2020' began together in the usual fashion: in person-classes, sitting together at tables, and attending mass together. When COVID hit we had to make some adjustments and finish our studies on-line. We were thankfully still able to gather as a community to receive the Sacraments together, with a few modifications such as wearing masks, social distancing from each other, and baptism with poured water vs full submersion. Despite COVID, it was a beautiful time together!
RCIA for this year (2020-2021) is currently being offered both in-person and via Zoom (simultaneously). The Adult Ed room in the Parish Center at St. Gerard is sanitized before and after class. We offer individual snacks and bottled water for refreshments, and have seating safely spaced out. For those unable to attend in person, you can join us via Zoom. Though there will be times we have to gather in-person, much of the class content can be learned from the comfort of your own home. We are here for you to make this journey a wonderful experience, despite the circumstances!
