The Rite of Sending is a special ceremony ("Rite") that occurs during the 11am Mass to show that you have decided to for sure become Catholic. Prior to this I will meet with you to see if you would like to continue forward and participate in these Rites. During this Rite, your church home vouches for your readiness and then 'sends you' to meet the Bishop at the Rite of Election that afternoon. The Rite of Election is where RCIA people from all over the Diocese come together to meet the Bishop to put his stamp of approval for you joining the church. This year, the Rite of Election is going to be at St. Gerard! Arrive at 10am in the classroom to go over what these Rites entail. We will attend the 11am Mass for the Rite of Sending, then have a couple hours off before we return for the Rite of Election at 3pm. This is an exciting next step on your journey to Catholicism!
