SCHEDULE CHANGE! We will start with class at 9am. Class will be all about the Season of Lent - what is all that fasting, praying and abstinence about? Why smear ashes on our heads? We will also review the Rite of Sending then head to Mass at 11am for the Rite of Sending ceremony. The Rite of Sending is an important step as we prepare to enter into the Lenten Season. At the Rite of Sending, those preparing for Baptism will sign the Book of the Elect, which signifies their readiness and willingness to be baptized. It is called the Rite of Sending because after that, they are sent to the Bishop where he gives his official blessing on their journey to receive the Easter Sacraments.
