Baptism is the gateway into the Church and the first of the three Sacraments of Initiation (along with Confirmation and the Eucharist). In baptism, we are "born of water and the Spirit," we are given the ability to "walk in the newness of life," and we fulfill the command of Christ to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

Baptisms usually take place on the first and third Sunday of each month immediately after the 11:00 AM Mass. On special feasts, e.g. Baptism of the Lord, baptisms may be scheduled at one of the weekend Masses.
